Parga

Parga or Barga - (پارغه / بارغه)

Location - Harbor in Epirus (bg. Епир), Greece N 39° 16' 59 E 20° 23' 47 map

One of the last Venetian strongholds in Epirus. Conquered by the Ottomans during 1537-1540 war, but returned with the treaty of 1567. Mentioned in the capitulations and treaties of 1540, 1567, 1575, 1576, 1595, 1604, 1619, 1625 and 1641 1).

The name in Ottoman sources alternates between Parga and Barga. In the treaty with Venetia from 1619 it is written Barga2).
